- Risk-benefit assessments
Write down the benefits of outdoor and adventurous play alongside the risks, and how you manage them.

💡 6-Month Personal Plans
The Care Inspectorate expects every child to have a written personal plan. KinderStart reminds you when each review is due, and your observations are there to draw on when you write it.
KinderAssist AI is included with the Standard plan and comes with a monthly usage allowance, which resets on the 1st of each month.
What you can do
The records and reports childminders in Scotland are asked for.
GIRFEC SHANARRI Tracking
Link observations to the eight SHANARRI wellbeing indicators, so you can show how each child is doing across all of them.
Curriculum for Excellence (CfE)
Tag observations to the Early Level curriculum organisers, such as Listening and Talking, to show progress over time.
Developmental Milestones
Track milestones and put together a report to share with parents if you have a concern.
6-Month Personal Plans
Write each child's personal plan using the SHANARRI indicators. The app tells you when the 6-month review is due.
Self-Evaluation (Graded 1 to 6)
Grade your setting from 1 to 6 against the Care Inspectorate's quality framework, and note your strengths and what you want to improve.
Accidents & Incidents
Record illnesses, accidents and safeguarding concerns in the app and keep them for as long as the law requires.
Milk & Snack Scheme and Risky Play
Tick off milk and healthy snacks for the Scottish scheme in the daily diary, and write risk-benefit assessments for outdoor play.
Keep parents in the loop
Parents see diary updates and observations on their phone as soon as you publish them, and can read their child's personal plan.
